Ean Brown

Director / Chartered Accountant

Ean’s genuine interest in his clients gives him constant and fresh inspiration. His interest in tax minimisation, succession planning and restructuring of businesses gives clients the opportunity to reap the benefits from his expertise.

Ean is equally comfortable with a diverse range of clients, from large commercial operations to small business owners. He enjoys analysing information to provide clients with beneficial results in their business structures.

Coming from a farming background and having previously owned a dairy farming unit with his wife Penny, it is no surprise Ean has a strong relationship with the farming community.

Andrea Allen

Andrea has been a Chartered Accountant for over 10 years, working as a trusted business and tax advisor in a number of fields within the industry.

Andrea’s particular areas of interest and expertise include:

Andrea lives on a lifestyle block and maintains an “edible forest garden”.

Deriarny Evitts

Accountant

Deriarny operated her own online store for 12 years, before deciding to make a career change and undergo retraining. She has just completed her studies and is soon to graduate with a Bachelor of Management, majoring in accounting.

Deriarny said she’s looking forward to discovering which areas within the accounting field she’d like to specialise in, but so far is enjoying doing accounting work for farms.

Having moved from the Waikato in 2018, she is now settled in beautiful Waipu. She has two grown daughters who are busy following their own paths in life, whilst Deriarny’s personal hobbies and interests include sailing, tramping and knitting.

Jared has worked as an accountant and business adviser for 13 years and has been a Chartered Accountant since 2010.

He has experience working with a diverse range of clients, from large commercial operations to small businesses. He has a particular interest in commercial property, share valuations, business planning and structuring of small to medium businesses.

Jared is married with 4 children. When he is not spending quality time with his family he enjoys playing a variety of sports.

Accounting Technician

Pam has over 15 years of experience in the accounting industry. Pam started in the Dargaville office working for Allen and Allen Limited, prior to Gilmore Brown Limited taking over the business.

Pam is a local, having lived most of her life in Dargaville, and enjoys working closely with our Dargaville clients assisting them with their accounting and taxation needs.

In her spare time Pam likes to get out on the golf course as a keen member and treasurer of the Northern Wairoa Golf Club.

Sally has been with the firm for over 20 years, during which time she completed her studies and qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

She takes pride in going the extra mile to help clients find tailored business solutions. Sally enjoys the challenge of researching technical tax issues, and collaborating with others to find answers to complex problems. Having previously lived on a dairy farm, she has first-hand experience in farm accounting.

In her personal time she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, or heading to the great outdoors to explore the tracks and hiking trails of New Zealand.

Julie Jenkins chartered accountants Whangarei

Administration

Julie has worked in the field of administration for 16 years after moving on from self-employment in a commercial cleaning business and caravan rental business.

Being part of a close-knit team of professionals with exceptional levels of skills, as well as a happy, busy work environment, are the main keys to job satisfaction for Julie, and this is reflected in the relationships she has forged with staff and clients over the years.

Hockey is a major part of Julie’s life over the winter months; as a player, Secretary and Treasurer for the Hikurangi Hockey Club, as well as coaching and umpiring her daughter’s team. Family life is equally important to Julie so, although juggling time is second nature, she is relieved when the hockey season is over!

Renee Marais chartered accountants Whangarei

Renee Marais

Tax Administration

Renee immigrated to New Zealand from Zimbabwe with her husband 15 years ago, choosing to settle in beautiful Whangarei as their new home. She has worked in administration for over 15 years in both Zimbabwe and New Zealand.

She is the friendly face and voice greeting our clients when they call or visit, and undertakes the management of clients’ commercial properties. Renee says she’s enjoying working with “a great bunch of people”.

Her two boys are heavily involved in cricket and gymnastics so this keeps Renee busy taking them to various matches and tournaments, as well as being their enthusiastic supporter and cheerleader. Her own hobbies include reading, playing squash and watching a good game of rugby.

Savana Miller

Trainee Accountant

5 years ago, Savana relocated from the hustle and bustle of Auckland to a small town on the Tutukaka Coast in pursuit of a slower paced, more family friendly community for her and her young family.

Savana joined the team in January 2023 as one of our newest trainee accountants. She is currently part way through completing her Bachelor of Business, with goals of becoming a Chartered Accountant.

When not working part-time, studying part-time and chasing after little humans full-time, Savana enjoys relaxing, spending time with her friends, paddle boarding and exploring new walking tracks.

Kayla-Rose Reid

Trainee Accountant

Kayla is the youngest member of our accounting team. In addition to having a bubbly personality, she is always eager to get each day started with a diligent attitude.

Kayla joined the team in March 2023 as a trainee accountant. She is currently on her way to completing her Diploma in Accounting, and will soon be starting her CAANZ Accounting Technician course. Kayla’s goal is to eventually become a Chartered Accountant.

In her own time Kayla’s loves spending quality time with her family and friends. When she’s not out socializing she is planning her next road trip to see more of our beautiful country.
