A few major banks and agencies have already phased out the acceptance of cheques. Among them are Kiwibank, New Zealand Post, Inland Revenue and ACC.
Other banks that will phase out cheques in 2021 include:
- ANZ (cheque deposits 31 May 2021, issuing cheques has already ceased from late 2020)
- Rabobank (25 June 2021)
- Westpac Bank (25 June 2021)
- ASB (July 2021)
- BNZ (1 July 2021)
In line with these changes, from 1 June 2021, Ean Brown Partners will no longer accept payments by cheque. If you would like to discuss alternative payment methods such as online banking or setting up a direct debit, please contact our office.
