Farmer on quad bike: Beef+Lamb NZ presenting free Farm Safety Management workshops in Northland

Beef + Lamb New Zealand have developed a Safety Management System for farmers, which they are presenting throughout the country in a series of one-day workshops.

On Thursday 31 May 2018 they are presenting a workshop in Tangiteroria, and on Friday 1 June 2018 they will be at Whananaki North.

The Safety Management System and workshops are free for B+LNZ levy-paying farmers, and by coming along to a workshop you'll receive a free copy of the Safety Management System, learn how to apply it on your farm, and be able to ask questions from a WorkSafe NZ representative who will be present at the workshops.

What is the Safety Management System

  • It is a set of plans and procedures that you can customise for your farm. It makes the paperwork easy – 90% of it is already done.

  • The system has been developed specifically for New Zealand sheep and beef farmers by B+LNZ's safety partner Exigent Risk Management (previously QSI), and in conjunction with WorkSafe NZ.

  • The system is simple and straightforward. When you put it in place on your farm, within a postive safety culture, it will help you ensure your farm is a safe workplace – and compliant with health and safety regulations.

The Tangiteroria workshop runs from 10am to 3pm; the Whananaki North workshop is 10am to 1pm. Lunch will be provided at both events.
